Another first was seeing Ben receive his Masters Degree. He graduated from ASU in May. His graduation ceremony was quite a celebration as the President was asked to speak. There were lots of people in the stadium, and it was very hot in the Arizona sun, but it was cool to be among those to see Obama in person.

The last few months have brought a few firsts. I thought I'd write about them.

First grandchild born

We were so lucky to be in Arizona when Brooklyn made her surprise appearance. We are excited to have her here, to watch her grow, and to see her mommy and daddy be such awesome parents. This is one of my favorite photos from her professional photo shoot (Red Bucket Photography).

A first attempt

I don't really know what I'm doing yet, but everyone else seems to be able to figure it out.

Today I ground my own wheat flour -- with my own wheat grinder. Smells wonderful and oh, the delicious bread I'll be making!
